I'm currently working in Emerald's media development department as a lead web developer. My accomplishments include:
- Transitioning 18 PowerPoint seminar products, into database-driven editable Flash presentations.
- Redesigning a large-scale templated web site product to meet W3C standards.
- Pioneering the change of an outdated approach to web application development, replacing ColdFusion procedural scripting with an object oriented .Net framework that relies heavily on XML, XSL, CSS, client-side scripting, and strong adherence to W3C compliant code.
- A successful push to eliminate all WYSIWYG based web development and replace with hand coding.
- A complete redesign of the company's website.
02/2001-07/2001, Applied Magic Inc., Carlsbad, California, GRAPHIC DESIGNER
During my time with Applied Magic, I worked closely with the marketing department to change the look and direction of all Applied Magic advertising campaigns. My responsibilities included: conceptual design, production, and pre-press of magazine ads; web design and maintenance; art direction of all external corporate collateral material; and supervision of print materials through final stages of production.
07/1998-01/2001, University of Central Florida, GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Initially hired for freelance photo editing by UCF's Department of Course Development and Web Services, I soon became a member of the Digital Media Team. The primary purpose of this "team" is to provide graphical support for online courses, and CD-ROMs. My responsibilities include: illustration, user interface design, creative concepts, production of web and print graphics, typographical layout, and general website maintenance.
10/1998-12/1998, Walt Disney World Inc., FREELANCE CONCEPTUAL DESIGNER
Provided conceptual designs to the W.D.W. Merchandise Presentation Department for "in-park" retail window displays. Responsible for: design of concepts, and thumbnail sketches.
05/1998-07/1998, University of Central Florida, GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Recruited by University of Central Florida- Art Department to train employees in the use of Adobe Photoshop and related hardware.
07/2000-10/2000, University of Central Florida, FREELANCE ARTIST
Commissioned by the Student Government Association to complete a series of three large paintings for the UCF Student Union and one large painting for the UCF/S.G.A. Student Coffee Shop Project.
